Easter Halva


  • 2 c. farina, uncooked
  • 3/4 c. unsalted butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. chopped almonds
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. powdered cinnamon


  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. water


Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after addition, until fluffy. Add farina, almonds and cinnamon. Bake in a greased 9″x13: pan at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Boil syrup to dissolve sugar and pour over cake while cake is still warm, in the pan, and allow to absorb and cool before cutting.
