Moving Right Along

Week 2 was a survivable week here at Prep.  We are learning as we go, so today I made a few adjustments to see how they work.  All students have been separated into no more than 2 in a classroom for a total of 6 rooms.  Mr. Turner, Mr. Jones and I are responsible for monitoring 2 rooms each to make sure students are staying on task and to provide extra assistance as needed.  So far, today has been a productive, quiet day.

At this morning’s round-up, I reminded students about taking notes and using time productively when working in e2020 as well as checking their agenda on Google Docs every morning.  We also discussed breaks and lunch, and I reminded them that breaks would be eliminated if behavior did not improve.  Tomorrow’s morning round-up will focus on us revisiting the student contract and reminding students of their responsibilities as related to Project Return.

Alt Ed students are working well together on e2020.  They have been able to use each other for assistance and have proven to be remarkable role models for the other students.  I am very proud of their motivation, dedication and citizenship the past 2 weeks.  I hope they keep up the good work until December! 🙂

Until next week, keep on keepin’ on!
