Shrimp Creole

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk biscuit mix
  • 3 cups water
  • 12 ounces tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 4 pounds shrimp, shelled
  • rice, hot cooked
Directions
  1. In a skillet, sauté onion in the butter.
  2. Add biscuit mix and stir.
  3. Combine all remaining ingredients except shrimp and rice. Add to slow cooker along with onions.
  4. Cover; cook on Low 7-9 hours.
  5. One hour before serving, turn to High and add shrimp. Serve over rice.
