Baked Donuts

Ingredients

Mix together:

  • 6 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Sift together:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter donut shaped baking pans generously and dust lightly with flour, tapping out any excess. Add flour mixture to butter mixture, 1/2 cup at a time, alternating with 1/2 cup milk. Fill prepared baking pans 2/3 full. Bake for about 1/2 hour at 350°F or until donuts are done. Remove immediately from pans, roll in melted butter, then in 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Makes 1 dozen.
