Obama, The Inauguration and English Class

For the historic inauguration next Tuesday, I wanted to incorporate the day in my lesson.  I searched for several lesson plans and have narrowed it down to 2.  I am not sure at this point which one we will be doing, but this is one I liked on analyzing political speeches:

WRITE OBAMA’S INAUGURAL ADDRESS

The other lesson I liked involves looking at the inaugural poems for Kennedy and Clinton and discussing the poetry for Obama’s chosen poet, Elizabeth Alexander.

And for something fun…ME for president!  Make yourself an Obamalike icon at OBAMICONME.  Thanks, Mr. Hendron, for the link!
